Gingivectomy is surgical removal of diseased or overgrown gum tissue. Applied to reduce periodontal pocket depth, prevent bacterial plaque accumulation and restore gum health. Indicated for gum overgrowth caused by medications (especially antiepileptic and antihypertensive) or insufficient oral hygiene.At Dentaline, gingivectomy is performed under local anesthesia with surgical scalpel, electrocautery, or laser. Diseased tissue is excised and healthy gum contour is created. Periodontal pack may be applied.Recovery 1-2 weeks. Soft food diet and special oral care protocol recommended.
