Curettage is cleaning of infected granulation tissue, bacterial deposits and tartar from inside gum pockets. Also known as subgingival scaling and root planing (SRP). Foundation of periodontal disease treatment, reduces gum inflammation, bleeding and pocket depth.At Dentaline, curettage is performed under local anesthesia with ultrasonic and hand instruments. Deep pockets treated regionally. Root surfaces smoothed during procedure to prevent bacterial reattachment.Treatment typically completed in multiple sessions. Gum healing begins 1-2 weeks after each session. 3-monthly follow-ups monitor periodontal health. Home care (proper brushing, flossing) is critical for treatment success.
