Frenectomy is surgical cutting of short or thick lingual frenulum (tongue tie) or labial frenulum (lip tie). Short tongue tie can cause feeding difficulties in babies, speech disorders in children, and restricted tongue mobility in adults. Short lip tie can cause diastema between front teeth.At Dentaline, frenectomy is performed under local anesthesia with surgical scalpel or laser.
